Ben 10: Alien Rivals

Ben 10: Alien Rivals is a 2D fighting game based on Cartoon Network's 2016 Ben 10 animated series. Play as Ben's alien transformations and battle rival fighters associated with Kevin's Antitrix. Start with Heatblast or Shockrock, unlock more playable aliens, and learn to combine attacks, defensive moves, and special abilities to win each match.

Gameplay and Objective

Each fight takes place in a side-view arena with health bars and a countdown timer. Your objective is to reduce your opponent's health to zero before time runs out. Matches use a best-of-three format, so winning two rounds secures the victory.

Attack with the Right Arrow key, defend with the Left Arrow key, and use the Up Arrow to rush toward your opponent. Timing matters because attacking continuously without defending can leave your fighter vulnerable to counterattacks.

Playable Aliens and Rival Fighters

The game begins with Heatblast and Shockrock available. As you make progress in Arcade mode, you can unlock Rath, Stinkfly, and Slapback. Each playable alien has distinct fighting animations and special attacks.

Your opponents include Wreckingbolt, Hot Shot, Undertow, CrystalFist, and Bootleg. Learn how each rival attacks and adjust your timing to avoid taking unnecessary damage.

Three Game Modes

• Arcade: Battle a series of rival aliens and unlock additional playable fighters as you progress.
• Survival: Face randomly selected opponents in consecutive battles and try to achieve your longest winning streak.
• Mutations: Fight random opponents with changing perks and penalties that affect the conditions of each battle.

Combos and Special Attacks

Press the Right Arrow repeatedly to chain normal attacks into a combo. The final punch of a completed combo deals double damage, making consecutive hits an effective way to reduce an opponent's health.

Use the Up Arrow to rush forward when your opponent is outside normal attacking range. Successful attacks help build your Omnitrix special meter. Once the meter is full, press Space to activate your alien's special attack and follow any on-screen instructions.

Your opponent can also perform powerful attacks, so pay attention to their movements and avoid leaving yourself exposed while building your own special meter.

Tips for Winning Battles

• Complete attack combos: Chain normal punches together to benefit from the stronger finishing hit.
• Defend at the right moment: Use the Left Arrow when an opponent starts attacking instead of trying to trade punches every time.
• Close the distance: Use rush attacks to approach opponents who are outside your normal striking range.
• Watch your special meter: Save your charged Omnitrix attack for a useful opportunity rather than activating it without a plan.
• Learn each fighter: Practice with Heatblast and Shockrock before experimenting with newly unlocked aliens.
• Watch the timer: Keep track of the remaining time and your opponent's health during each round.
• Practice in Arcade mode: Become familiar with the controls and rival attack patterns before attempting longer Survival runs.
